Today is the last day that voters can cast a ballot in the March 5, 2024, Super Tuesday Election when the largest number of states will be holdingĀ presidential primaries or caucuses. Vote Centers and Official Ballot Drop boxes are open to accept ballots until the polls close tonight at 8 p.m.
Voters are reminded that they can cast their ballot in one of three ways in Santa Clara County:
⢠By Mail – Return your ballot in the free postage-paid return envelope that was supplied to all Santa Clara County voters. Vote by Mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by Tuesday, March 12.
⢠At an Official Drop Box – There are 102 Official Drop Boxes located throughout the county. Official Drop Box locations can be found online at rovservices.sccgov.org/Home/IndexPost?selected=do.
⢠In-Person – Vote in-person at any one of the 104 Vote Center locations, or at the Registrar of Votersā (ROV) office. Replacement ballots, accessible voting machines, language assistance, registration services and more are available. Voters can register and vote at the same time at any of these locations. Visit rovservices.sccgov.org to find the nearest Vote Center location.
Polls close for voting at 8 p.m. Those in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote, but the line will be capped and no additional people will be allowed to line up. The ROV strongly encourages voting earlier in the day to avoid the chance of a line, especially if the individual needs additional services such as voter registration.
No Party Preference voters (those who have registered to vote without identifying a political party preference) will not have any presidential candidates listed on their ballots, however, they do have options:
⢠To vote in the American Independent, Democratic, or Libertarian party primaries, visit the ROV office, located at 1555 Berger Drive, Bldg. 2 in San Jose, or any Vote Center and request a crossover ballot. One does NOT need to re-register for that party.
⢠To vote in the Green, Peace & Freedom, or Republican party primaries, one MUST re-register for that party, in person, at the ROV office or at any Vote Center.
Voters can track the status of their ballot by registering at wheresmyballot.sos.ca.gov. The service will send status notifications by text, email, or phone when the ballot is mailed, received, and counted.
For more information, contact the Registrar of Votersā Office at (408) 299-VOTE (8683) or toll-free at (866) 430-VOTE (8683), or visit http://www.sccvote.org/. You have one vote, make it count!
