Special Kathak Performances at Art Bias, San Carlos

Over fifteen artists will open their studios. Join us for an afternoon filled with creativity, inspiration and engaging conversation!

In March we are celebrating Holi, a vibrant Hindu festival of colors, love, and spring, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, rebirth, and new beginnings.
From noon – 2:00 PM, we are excited to welcome Noorani Dance, founded by Farah Yasmeen Shaikh. They will perform Kathak dance of South Asia around our space – learn more about Noorani Dance at www.nooranidance.com

There will be Holi-inspired hands-on art activities for youth with Pettina Velez. Thank you to Dragonfly Community Arts for supporting this activity.

At 2:30 PM, don’t miss the opening reception for the exhibition “A Celebration of Life: Dancing through Adversity” by Lina Gelfer will take place at 2:30. Lina Gelfer lived a life governed by logic and precision as a math and physics professor but at age 76, she was diagnosed with cancer and everything changed. Following brain surgery and a move to a long-term care facility, Lina traded equations for intuition to become a self-taught artist.
