April 2026 Baithak: Hinduism Today- Where Do We Go From Here?

|
Namaste, You are invited to join Hindus for Human Rights on Saturday, April 18 at 12 PM ET / 9 AM PT for our baithak of the month.
This time, we’ll be in conversation with Rajmohan Gandhi on his new book, Do You Know Your Hinduism? Notes for Modern-Day Hindus (Aleph Book Company, 2026), moderated by our own Sunita Viswanath.
What it means to be Hindu today-and what Hinduism asks of us in a world shaped by rancor and resentment- remains an urgent question. This baithak approaches Hinduism not as a fixed identity, but as an evolving ethical and spiritual tradition. At a time when religion is often mobilized in the service of power, we will ask how Hinduism might still speak meaningfully to contemporary concerns: war, nationalism, justice, and coexistence.
Together, we’ll explore Hinduism not simply as inheritance, but as something to be consciously interpreted and lived- drawing on its resources to confront violence and inequality, while also asking where it must be questioned or reimagined.
Join us for a conversation that brings together reflection, critique, and dialogue to ask: Where do we go from here?
