From March 2nd – 22nd, Swami Paramahamsa Nithyananda will be leading eN-Effect, a breakthrough Global Peace Initiative, where thousands of people from around the world and from all walks of life are participating to raise the collective consciousness of the humanity. Was there a moment during the events of last year when you felt your faith wavering?
No, not even once. I know my master and what I have experienced with him. He is rooted in love and compassion and has never said or done anything that could have shaken my faith. Every enlightened master throughout history has been tortured and tested and this was his test.
What is in Swami Nityananda’s message that finds such widespread appeal across continents?
He connects to the core of a being—universal values that apply to all. Be it a child or an adult or a senior, be it a small crowd or a large gathering, he has the ability to address each person as if he is the only person in the room and has his total attention. He is very adept at using technology. He is the most watched guru onTV worldwide.
What is the single biggest challenge to humanity today?
Deterioration of social structure. The guru shishya parampara has been destabilized. People have focused on enhancing their outer world, but no effort has been made to expand their inner life, an inner awakening.
What advice would you give people who lead busy lives and can’t seem to find the time for spiritual growth?
Find in in your heart to support someone who does want to explore spirituality—be tolerant if your children want to do this.
