East Brunswick celebrated the opening of the state’s only lighted cricket pitch at Heavenly Farms on Friday, April 25th. The new turf field drew a large crowd of sports enthusiasts for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The opening ceremony was attended by numerous local officials, including Council Members Dinesh Behal, Dana Zimbicki, Kevin McEvoy; Board of Education President Heather Guas; Economic Development Director Rob Zuckerman; and representatives from the Asian-American Pacific Islander group of East Brunswick (AAPI) and the East Brunswick Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The East Brunswick Cricket Club, founded by Ronnie Li and Dax Patel offers programs for all skill levels. Jatin Patel, a renowned coach and Cricket Hall of Famer, serves as the club’s mentor, having played a pivotal role in establishing the first pitch at Bicentennial Park in 2021.
