Nirupama Vaidhyanathan is a multifaceted artist - a dancer, writer, storyteller, and educator. She is an award winning writer and former editor of India Currents magazine. She continues to perform worldwide and founded the Sankalpa School of Dance, where she trains the next generation of committed dancers to pursue excellence. In various forums and conferences, she has spoken about Hinduism, Indian woman composers, facets of Indian performing arts, Tamizh poetry and the Ramayana. She also curates music and dance performances in intimate spaces to help build a bridge of understanding between artist and audience members.
