Avery Cruz is the Communications Coordinator for the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority. Originally from Silicon Valley, Avery has a strong passion for the outdoors and uses her work to amplify the important stories of people and wildlife within the region. Avery has over 11 years of experience in marketing, communications and program planning within the behavioral health and public health fields. She holds a B.S. in Journalism from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a Master of Public Health from San José State University.
