Over the past twenty-five years, Mr. Sundaresan has translated more than 180 literary works (novels, novellas, and short stories) between English, Tamil, and Telugu. They include translations of works by award-winning writers Jayakanthan, Neela Padmanabhan, Thiru Janakiraman, Raghavan Chudamani, Nanjil Nadan, Maharishi, Abburi Chaya Devi, and his late sister, Srimati India Devi (pen name Vindhiya). The Sahitya Akademi has published two of his English translations of Neela Padmanabhan's works - Autumn Reveries (2013) and The Chariot Path (2023).
In 2016, Autumn Reveries won the Nalli Thisai Ettum award as the best translated English work.
Mr. Sundaresan is a retired electrical engineer and lives in the East Bay.
