Type Investigations announced three new Springboard Project partnerships for 2026: India Currents, Puente News Collaborative, and South Side Weekly. Through the Springboard Project, Type will be offering these newsrooms an infusion of editorial, research, and financial support to help strengthen their investigative capacity. They join ongoing Springboard partners, Gulf States Newsroom and The Blacklight At New York Amsterdam News.

“We at Type Investigations are thrilled to launch collaborations with these  publications and expand our work with current Springboard newsrooms,” said Noy Thrupkaew, the director of partnerships at Type Investigations. “Each of our partners has earned the trust of historically underserved communities through rigorous reporting and deep relationships with their readerships, and we are honored to bring them together as a cohort and to support their work.”

The Springboard Project launched in 2023 to help local newsrooms serving historically marginalized communities publish complex investigations and develop the resources to produce investigative work for years to come.
