At the Chevron & Aramco Houston Marathon on Sunday, January 11, 2026, Sewa International volunteers included two prominent community leaders, Dr. Randeep Suneja and Mr. Swatantra Jain.

Dr. Suneja, a cardiologist with 33 years of practice, completed his sixteenth half-marathon and raised $6,700 through Sewa’s Run for a Reason program with support from donors. Mr. Swatantra Jain, a 78-year-old entrepreneur, community leader, and philanthropist, completed his first marathon and also raised funds for Sewa, later describing the run as a meaningful personal milestone.

Sewa’s participation extended beyond the race itself. More than 120 Sewa runners took part in the half marathon and volunteered at the event, supporting over 15,000 runners with hydration services and completing cleanup by 11:30 a.m. Sewa also operated a breakfast booth, serving tea and breakfast to runners and volunteers.

The marathon drew 30,000 runners, 7,000 volunteers, and an estimated 250,000 spectators, with participants from all 50 U.S. states and 118 countries. Women accounted for 51% of half-marathon runners. The 2026 event marked Sewa’s fourth year of participation in Houston’s largest sporting event.
