ENCOUNTER: a provocative performance blending daring physical theatre with bold storytelling. Inspired by Magsaysay awardee Mahasweta Devi’s short story, Encounter is a passionate story of an indigenous woman, Dopdi, and her defiance against injustice. ENCOUNTER explores imageries from the history from the world around whether it is the Native American history or indigenous people’s history elsewhere or a modern-day occurrence. Choreographed and directed by Aparna Sindhoor and Anil Natyaveda and written by S.M. Raju and Aparna Sindhoor. Music by National award-winning composer Isaac Thomas Kottukapally.
