A USCIS report revealed that in the year ending September 20, 2023, around 870,000 foreign nationals became American citizens, a drop from the previous year’s figures of 970,000.
Of these, 59,100 were Indian-born, accounting for 6.7% of the total new citizens. India is the second largest source of new American citizens after Mexico, which accounts for 12.1% of all new citizens.
The Philippines, Dominican Republic and Cuba follow India, and the top five countries together account for more than 45% of all new citizens in the country. Read more here.
