Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin, Albany Mayor Aaron Tiedemann, and El Cerrito Mayor Lisa Motoyama have endorsed Barnali Ghosh for a seat on the BART Board to represent District 3. A landscape architect by training, Ghosh is also an artist, local historian and transportation activist.
Between the three of them, Mayors Arregiuin, Tiedemann and Motoyama represent five of the six BART station neighborhoods in District 3, which comprises the cities of Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, Richmond, San Pablo, Pinole, Hercules, Kensington, El Sobrante, North Richmond, Rodeo, Crockett, and Port Costa. The incumbent Director of the BART Board Rebecca Saltzmann has also endorsed Ghosh, who currently serves as the Vice Chair of the City of Berkeley’s Planning Commission.
“Community leaders trusted by District 3 voters are uniting behind my campaign, because they know we need responsible and steady leadership to guide BART through the many challenges it faces in this post-pandemic environment,” said Ghosh.
