On a recent visit to India, singer, actor, and filmmaker Rohini Chandra wrote, shot, directed, and hosted a travel diary called “This Beautiful Journey.”

Chandra discovers the country where her parents were born and explores regions in Delhi, Haryana, and Kolkata where no commercial tour guide will take you. Her travelogue captures impromptu, fresh, and personal moments with both the rustic and the new in India through glimpses that flush with exuberant joy and life lessons.
Her goal says Chandra,” is to bring smiles to your faces through the spontaneity of my journey!”

But Chandra was also looking to do some good for kids during the pandemic, by giving people a chance to virtually watch the complete version of her award-winning travel film for just $6.00. 100% of the ticket revenue was donated to Room to Read, which makes sure kids across the world continue to read and stay in school and not get trafficked during this time.

Room to Read transforms the lives of millions of children in low-income communities across the world by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. They have invested in the lives of 18.8M children so far! $50 can teach a child to read and write for a year.
Room to Read is currently adapting to the decrease in funding during the COVID-19 crisis. Donations made now will ensure that learning continues during this time and that every child receives his or her right to quality education in the most vulnerable communities.
