Red Baraat returned to SF Jazz with their “Festival of Colors” tour in San Francisco, Calif. on Mar. 25, 2023.

Founder Sunny Jain led a band of versatile and energetic musicians in playing the sounds of South Asia to celebrate Holi. Musicians included Alison Shearer on soprano saxophone, Sonny Singh on trumpet, Armando Vergara on trombone, John Altieri on sousaphone, Jonathan Goldberger on guitar, Varun Das on drumset and Sunny Jain on dhol.

Bay Area native Roopa Mahadevan opened for the band with her ensemble, “Roopa in Flux” with musicians Chris McCarthy on piano, Sruti Sarathy on violin and Rohan Krishnamurthy on percussion.
