India Currents gave me a voice in days I was very lost. Having my articles selected for publishing was very validating – Shailaja Dixit, Executive Director, Narika, Fremont

Stress, fear and insecurity are rampant in today’s society. They often manifest themselves through physical and mental maladies. In such a scenario, the ancient science of Yoga is a powerful tool to experience spiritual dimensions that can give us the energy, enthusiasm and insights required to heal and grow.

Isha Yoga is one such form of Yoga that easily integrates into a person’s life. Its practice has helped thousands of people find relief from chronic ailments such as asthma, obesity, hypertension, sinusitis, migraine, arthritis and many other conditions that modern medicines can only treat superficially.

Isha Yoga practices the ancient yogic principle that the body is the temple of the spirit and that good health is fundamental to spiritual development. The practice is a natural process of fostering optimal health and inner peace.

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, who developed Isha Yoga as the vehicle to transmit a deep experience of the Self, is a realised master, yogi and mystic. Belonging to no particular tradition, Sadhguru incorporates what is most valid for the modern seeker from the spiritual sciences.

This refined and intensive program was designed to be one that was experienced and not just learned. Isha Yoga practices stimulate the release of physical, mental and emotional blocks and activate the spontaneous expression of vital energy.

Within a few weeks of practice, Isha Yoga can enhance one’s memory, decision-making and ability to concentrate. The program uses worldly, social and family responsibilities as a medium for personal growth.

This form of Yoga does not require a change of lifestyle belief or religion. Yet it can help improve a person’s skills, relationships and level of self-fulfilment regardless of a person’s age and occupation.

This eight-day intensive program is open to people over the age of 15 and over. The program involves simple postures with focused breathing and meditation. This form of Yoga doesn’t require physical agility or any previous knowledge or experience of Yoga.

Wednesday, July 11-17. Inner Engineering, a 7-day program led by Isha Yoga teacher. Country Inn and Suites, Chesapeake Terr., Sunnyvale. Weekdays, 6.45-10 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.; Sunday, 8a.m.-5 p.m. $260. (408) 732-1413.
