The India Society of Worcester (ISW) hosted a Holi celebration at Faneuil Hall Marketplace on Saturday, March 16, 2025, drawing hundreds of community members and visitors to experience the Indian festival.
The event featured a performance by the ISW Symphony Dhol & Tasha drummers and lezim dancers. “We matched the energy level of a performance in India. It’s wonderful to see the next generation now interested and invested in this tradition,” said Akshay Rajhans, a member of the ISW Symphony.
Traditional dance routines from various cultural groups were also presented, while attendees enjoyed colorful festivities. Nina Pellegrini, from Faneuil Hall Marketplace management, praised the event’s success, saying, “The performance was incredible, and we’d love to host you for Diwali. Don’t hesitate to reach out if your group would like to return sooner.”
Like the Holi celebration, ISW intends to host more events to promote Indian culture and build bridges within the Boston community.
