Long-time readers of India Currents may remember him as the guy who used to create crosswords for the magazine. This year, Kumar Balani is in the annals of Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce (MCRCC), New Jersey, as one of five people to receive a “Business and Community Leader Award.”
Balani is currently publisher and editor of Biz India, an Indian-American business magazine in its second year of publication, and chief executive officer of an export firm Balani Distributors Corp. He was chosen to receive the award from among some 1,500 members of the MCRCC.
At the awards ceremony, Balani was cited for his outstanding achievements and continuous contributions to the success of the community. As an active member of the MCRCC during the last year or so, Balani attended numerous networking events and showed other members that the MCRCC can really help business people achieve more sales and profits, as it has done for Balani’s publication, Biz India. Besides being actively involved with the chamber of commerce, Balani has also participated in activities at the American Red Cross of Central New Jersey.
“It is indeed a great honor to be the only member of the Indian business community to be ever given such an award. It brings recognition to the Indian population in New Jersey and U.S.,” says Balani.
