Youth Mental Health First Aid for South Asian American adults

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. This adapted training is designed to teach South Asian American non-mental health related community leaders (e.g., sports coaches, dance teachers, parents, religious leaders, youth leaders, etc.) how to support South Asian American youth (age 8-18). The course introduces common mental health challenges for South Asian American youth, reviews some typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help these young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
