“Writing as an Other” w/Tara Dorabji, Viet Thanh Nguyen, and Greg Sarris

In this event, Pulitzer winner Viet Thanh Nguyen will be joined by two other brilliant outsiders: Greg Sarris, Chairman of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria and celebrated author of fiction and memoir (Becoming Story), delves into complexities of belonging and identity as a Native American; and novelist Tara Dorabji, the daughter of Parsi-Indian and German-Italian migrants is the other remarkable voice. Her debut novel, Call Her Freedom, won the Simon & Schuster Books Like Us Grand Prize. Dorabji’s documentary film series on human rights defenders in Kashmir won accolades at film festivals throughout Asia and the USA.
