Silicon Valley’s 9th Annual Foster5K Race Brings Community Together for Foster Youth
The 9th Annual Foster5K Race + Kids Dash returns to Martial Cottle Park on Sunday, April 27, 2025, providing an opportunity for the South Asian community to make a meaningful impact in the lives of foster children across Santa Clara County.
This family-friendly event kicks off at 9:00 AM with a chip-timed 5K race, followed by a Kids Dash at 10:00 AM featuring special runs for different age groups. Participants can also join virtually from anywhere!
Leading the charge is Fred Ferrer, CEO of Child Advocates of Silicon Valley, whose vision has created a powerful platform for connecting foster youth with dedicated mentors through the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Program.
Several members of our South Asian community are actively involved in organizing this year’s event, including Board Member Vik Ghai and his family memebrs Roma, Ghai, Orion Ghai, Vardaan Ghai, and Shashi Wadhi. Their dedication exemplifies the growing engagement of Indian Americans in local charitable initiatives.
The day concludes with a vibrant post-race celebration featuring music, prizes, refreshments, and family activities – making this not just a race, but a community celebration.
All proceeds directly support Child Advocates of Silicon Valley’s programs that provide crucial stability and advocacy for foster youth during challenging times.
