NightLife: Colors of India

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, the California Academy of Sciences will transform into a vibrant celebration of Indian culture as the Non Stop Bhangra collective teams up with the museum’s popular NightLife series to present Colors of India — A Spring Celebration.
The event marks the first full Indian-themed NightLife at the Academy of Sciences, bringing together music, dance, food, fashion, and culture for an immersive evening inside one of San Francisco’s most iconic venues.
Founded in San Francisco and voted Best Dance Party in San Francisco, Non Stop Bhangra has spent more than two decades sharing the music, dance, and culture of Punjab with audiences across the Bay Area and beyond. The collective is also behind the popular Bhangra & Beats Night Market, a large-scale outdoor cultural celebration that has become a staple of San Francisco’s arts and nightlife scene.
With Colors of India, the collective brings that same vibrant mix of music, food, and community indoors to the California Academy of Sciences.
The evening will feature the signature Non Stop Bhangra experience, including interactive Bhangra dance lessons, vibrant performances, DJs, live dhol drumming, and nonstop beats throughout the night. In the museum courtyard, guests can step into the Bollywood Groove Garden, where DJ duo Lychy Jelly will spin a high-energy blend of reimagined Bollywood favorites and global dance sounds.
Guests will also enjoy a vibrant bazaar marketplace featuring Indian artisans alongside beloved local San Francisco makers offering fashion, jewelry, art, and handcrafted goods.
The event will showcase a lineup of beloved Bay Area food vendors bringing the flavors of India to the museum, including New Delhi Restaurant, San Francisco’s oldest Indian restaurant led by owner Ranjan Dey, alongside popular vendors including Wah Jee Wah, Momolicious, Curry Up Now, and more. Together they will serve a variety of Indian street food favorites including samosas, momos, pani puri, wraps, chai, Indian coffee, sweets, and other beloved dishes.
Guests will also have after-hours access to explore the museum’s exhibits, including the rainforest dome, aquarium, planetarium, and galleries while music and celebration fill the space.
