Indians for Collective Action (ICA), a nonprofit group based in the San Francisco Bay Area, has been instrumental in nurturing social activists and supporting innovative community-led development projects in over 20 states of India since its inception in 1968. Their efforts have resulted in the distribution of over $25 million. We are grateful for your continued support as we collaborate with dedicated social workers and activists in India and the United States.
We are delighted to invite you to Indians for Collective Action, GALA 2026, which will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026. This inspiring evening will focus on a cause that profoundly impacts lives and shapes futures: “Environment Sustainability – Collective Action for a Better Tomorrow.”
Our initiatives aim to provide sustainable solutions that empower underserved communities, reduce inequalities, and pave the way for a more just and equitable future.
This year, we will honor an exceptional individual from the Sundarban region of West Bengal, India, Sankar Halder, the founder of Mukti. Mr. Halder dedicated his life to promoting sustainable development and empowering marginalized women in West Bengal. His unwavering dedication and work have earned him numerous accolades, including the Star of Asia, Bharat Excellence, Krishak Ratna, Vivek Swanman, APJ Abdul Kalam Award, TCS CSR Award, True LEGEND by Telegraph, and AmriCare on Livelihood.
