Fremont Annual Candlelight Vigil Commemorating Domestic Violence Awareness Month

We invite members of our community, our local leaders, sister organizations, volunteers,
staff, colleagues, friends, and family to gather in peace, strength, and solidarity. We
gather to remember those who are not with us today, to honor those who are rising in
courage, and to affirm our commitment to breaking and preventing cycles of violence
together. The vigil will feature brief speeches by local advocates, community leaders, and
elected officials as well as offer an open mic for the community to share their perspectives
and stories.

This vigil is co-hosted by nonprofits Narika, Safe Alternative to Violent Environments
(SAVE), Maitri and North Islamic Shelter for the Abused (NISA) and co-sponsored by
the City of Fremont Human Relations Commission.
