Arogya World’s Signature Bay Area Event

May 30 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT
Arogya World’s signature Bay Area event includes a morning scientific symposium The Next Frontier in Diabetes Care and the evening Arogya World Gala: A Night of Culinary Delight, both taking place on May 30, 2026, at Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park.
As you know, diabetes is one of the fastest-growing health challenges of our time, affecting families earlier and more severely than ever before — particularly within South Asian communities. What makes Arogya World unique is our unwavering focus on prevention: practical, culturally grounded solutions that work at scale and reach people before disease takes hold.
The Arogya World May 30 event  is designed as a moment to gather and invest in that future. The scientific symposium is  a focused, high-level convening of leaders in medicine, research, industry, and public health who are actively shaping what comes next.  We will cover topics such as food as medicine, innovation, how diabetes and heart disease affect South Asians, the science of prevention, and the role of philanthropy.  The symposium will be from 9 am to noon, followed by a networking lunch,     Dr Chris Gardner, and Dr Mike Snyder from Stanford have agreed to speak and so has Dr Alka Kanaya (UCSF).
The evening gala will be an elegant, invitation-only event bringing together business leaders, physicians, philanthropists and community advocates to enjoy exceptional Indian-inspired wellness cuisine prepared by Michelin-starred  and award winning chefs.     Three big name Indian chefs – Chef Srijith Gopinathan (from Ettan and Copra), Chef Pujan Sarkar (from Tiya) and Chef Asha Gomez the author of acclaimed cookbooks – will be curating the different courses.
Arogya World, the non profit I founded 15 years ago, a  501 (c) 3 public charity, has reached nearly 30 million people throughout India with our science -based diabetes prevention programs.   We got a United Nations InterAgency Taskforce and WHO award in 2022 for strengthening India’s primary healthcare system and a Google AI for Social Good award some years back.  We are beginning to bring our programs to the US as well, with a focus on youth outreach and lifestyle change.
