Annual Nagar Kirtan Festival in Yuba City (Oct 31 – Nov 2)

The Sikh Coalition, the largest Sikh civil rights organization in the United States, will hold its annual multi-day 46th Nagar Kirtan festival in Yuba City.

The event offers a wonderful opportunity for local audiences to connect with their Sikh and Punjabi neighbors and gain a deeper understanding of the rich religious and cultural heritage of the world’s fifth-largest organized religion. At the heart of the celebration, the gurdwara will host religious programming, welcoming individuals who have traveled from near and far to pay their respects. Surrounding the gurdwara, food stalls will offer complimentary meals to all attendees in the spirit of community and service.

Across the street, a vibrant commercial area will showcase vendors selling Punjabi grocery items, traditional clothing, handmade accessories, and all-natural skincare products. Each evening, visitors can experience various Punjabi cultural traditions that recreate the lively atmosphere of a traditional festival, or mela, as celebrated in Punjab. Highlights of the weekend include a spectacular fireworks show on Friday night and a colorful parade on Sunday morning.
