‘Fitoor’ is the story of Firdaus (Katrina Kaif) – the red-haired, iconic daughter of Begum Hazrat (Tabu). It had been rumored, and photographs taken, of Rekha being a member of the cast and playing Begum Hazrat, a role that is now being played by Tabu. Rekha felt the character was too close to home and bowed out of the film, leaving behind a trail of tabloid gossip.

Aditya Roy Kapur plays Noor, the common man who is in love with the red-haired Firdaus since childhood. An orphan boy and a rich girl! As expected, her mother is against the very idea of them getting together. The film is set in Kashmir. Stark whites, flaming reds and muddy browns paint the screen, mixing contemporary politics of Kashmir with the love story.

After Kai Po Che, Director Abhishekh Kapur is ready to roll out his next film, Fitoor. It releases on 12th February.
