About Art of Living Foundation
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar founded The Art of Living Foundation (AOLF) in 1981 and now operates chapters in 180 countries. The non-profit, volunteer-based organization offers programs on stress elimination and self-development based on breathing techniques, meditation, and yoga.
The aim of AOLF, according to its statement, is to create world peace through a stress-free and violence-free society. Nearly 800 million people worldwide use its educational and self-development programs and tools to facilitate stress elimination and foster well-being.
“There are three levels of knowing. The first is through our five senses. Higher than this is the intellectual knowledge. Beyond the five senses and the intellect is the knowledge that comes from the spirit,” says Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
