The Federation of Indo Americans of Northern California (FIA) presents their annual Festival of India and Parade to celebrate the richness of India’s culture and heritage. This year, FIA introduces Festival of Globe (FOG) to Bay Area audiences.

Festival of Globe is a 10-day celebration starting from Aug 7 to 16 and will include the SF Global Movie Fest, FOG Awards, a mela and a parade.

The Global Movie Fest will showcase the best of world cinema fostering creative and technical talent.  With a mission to empower and integrate global cultures and communities through Film Arts, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Folk Arts. The movie fest will feature short films, documentaries, feature films and music videos submitted by independent filmmakers from around the world.

Fog Awards is a premier show recognizing global achievers.  Over a 100 winners will be selected from movies submitted from more than 30 countries. Jackie Chan, Sharon Stone, Martin Sheen, Rani Mukherji, Ileana D’Cruz, Neha Dhupia  are among the celebrities that will be in attendance.

Bollywood music director, Bappi Lahiri will perform along Kat Kramer, Andy Madadian and Sonu Nigam.
The event will continue through the weekend of August 15 and August 16 in Fremont with a mela, dance competitions, cultural programs, Bollywood musical extravaganzas, and a parade. The popular health fair will have more than 50 physicians and allied health professionals available to provide free health services. There will be a kid’s corner at the fair with rides and games for children, as well as booths of arts and craft, boutique shops and food stalls. No matter your age or interest, there will be something to entice and entertain all of your senses—from watching ethnic Indian dances to tasting authentic Indian fare. This will be followed by a parade on August 16, through downtown Fremont showcasing Bollywood celebrities and 50 floats.
