On December 27, 2024, Bay Area-based nonprofit Active Circle hosted “Music for the Little Souls Battling Cancer,” a musical fundraiser at the Wadia Childrens Hospital in Mumbai. The event brought together approximately 100 children, aged 3 to 12, currently undergoing treatment for cancer at the hospital.
The event featured a musical performance organized in collaboration with the Shagota Music Academy and Active Circle volunteers. The Active Circle team and students of Shagota Music Academy curated age-appropriate performances that matched the festive, holiday spirit. Through the event, Active Circle founders Aanya Shah and Nivriti Vira aimed to celebrate hope, resilience, and the unyielding spirit of the children battling cancer.
Active Circle also donated ₹1.25 lakh (approximately $1400) to the hospital to fund follow-up treatments, post-chemotherapy, other medical expenses, and medications. Chief guests at the event included Dr. Akshat Chadda and Harakchand Savla from Jeevan Jyoth Cancer, a Mumbai-based NGO.
The organization plans to continue its work supporting underprivileged communities, particularly children and families affected by various mental and physical health issues. In February, Active Circle will organize a Walk/Hike Monthly Challenge to raise funds for Solace Charities, an organization that supports underprivileged families in need of medical care, education, and more.
