Grab & Go flaxseed spread

“I was never a good cook growing up in India. I would observe my mother cooking, but that was the end of it!” said Laxmi Hiremath, the founder of Laxmi’s Delights.
Laxmi is an accidental entrepreneur who finds great joy in developing unique, organic cuisines. Her most recent product is a new single-serve grab-and-go packaging of Laxmi’s Delights, her famed organic flaxseed spread.
The name “flaxseed” says it all: it’s the plant’s seed. The tiny, sesame-shaped seeds can be either golden or brown and are almost microscopic.
High-quality research has shown the many health benefits of flaxseed. These include better digestion and heart health and a decreased risk of certain cancers, obesity, and diabetes. Furthermore, flaxseed is a key plant source of the vital omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil and has been shown to reduce cholesterol and the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Laxmi’s Delights
Laxmi’s Delights offers a variety of creative gourmet products created in the USA, including Fruit Curry Sauces, Sweet-Spiced Roasted Nuts, and Flaxseed Spreads. To guarantee the purest and healthiest experience, the spreads are made entirely of natural ingredients without additives or preservatives.
Spreading Laxmi’s Delights flaxseed spread over artisanal cheeses or squeezing some on bread or bagels can add flair and flavor to sandwiches. You can also garnish it with crackers or pretzels. For a change of pace, spread it on pasta, quinoa, or couscous. The flaxseed spread even goes well when combined with sour cream, hummus, or yogurt.
Food writer to entrepreneur
Laxmi was a food writer before she became a food entrepreneur. Her unexpected literary journey began in the 1990s when she sent a single recipe to The Columbus Dispatch’s culinary editor on a whim. “My recipe idea intrigued the editor since it was vegetarian, which is not often seen in the recipe pages of the magazine,” Laxmi said.
Since then, Laxmi has been published on a national level as a food writer and novelist, and her works on Indian cuisine are widely read and cherished by readers. In addition to her extensive writing for several publications, she has appeared on national television and radio stations, including KGO and KNEW.
She has written for magazines like Gourmet, Bon Appétit, Sunset, Eating Well, Vegetarian Times, and Fine Cooking among others. She wrote a monthly vegetarian food column for India Currents for nearly 14 years. Her years of knowledge culminated in two books — “Laxmi’s Vegetarian Kitchen,” and “The Dance of Spices.”
Her literary beginnings led to a natural turning point in her life when she started experimenting with food that her children would enjoy.
Healthy food options
“I was looking for ways to create healthy school lunches for my children,” Laxmi said, reflecting on the humble beginnings of her business. “The idea for my unique Flaxseed Spreads came from my desire to combine flaxseed with other tasty ingredients. They turned out to be a favorite with my children as well as their PBJ sandwich-loving friends.”
The use of flaxseed, often called linseed, dates back thousands of years to ancient India. The Ayurvedic medical tradition has long acknowledged the beneficial effects of flaxseed, called “Alsi” or “Tisi” in Hindi. In Ayurvedic medicine, flaxseed is prescribed for many conditions, including indigestion, skin disorders, and constipation. Health and vigor were also said to be enhanced.
Actually, the other kids would give up turkey sandwiches for her flaxseed-topped ones in an instant! It was common for her to get requests from the mothers of her son’s friends to sell flaxseed spread so that everyone could enjoy them.

Innovative flaxseed spreads
From that place, an innovative range of organic, gluten-free, healthful, and mouth-watering flaxseed spreads was developed! Additionally, the flaxseed spreads are completely safe for those who have nut allergies. Each of the three spread varieties—savory flaxseed with sun-dried tomatoes, lemon flaxseed with ginger and honey, and golden flaxseed with orange juice—is a mouthwatering treat.
Several accolades have also gone to Laxmi’s company. The 2015 Super Bowl 50 Business Connect in San Francisco went to Laxmi’s Delights. Her company was presented with the esteemed Specialty Food Association “Outstanding New Product” award in 2007, the most coveted accolade in the specialty food business. Nominated for and ultimately awarded the Sofi Award for “Outstanding Innovation Nut Butter” by the Specialty Food Association in 2014.
Laxmi’s Delights products are available nationwide in many gourmet food stores, including Amazon.com, Costco, Kroger, Safeway, Walmart, and Wegmans. Find Laxmi’s Delights on Laxmi’s Delights Amazon Storefront
“My business is a spiritual journey for me,” Laxmi said when asked about her vision for the company’s future. She envisions adding more products to her line and creating a space in the food industry where people can enjoy organic, wholesome food.
