Aashna Patel, a Mumbai-born TV host and producer who lives in Los Angeles is nominated for two Daytime Emmy awards this year in the Legal/Court category – Justice for the People with Judge Milian and We the People with Judge Lauren Lake. The awards ceremony will take place on June 8, 2024.

Patel was born in Mumbai and moved to Toronto when she was three years-old. As a child she developed a keen interest in the arts, learning Bharatanatyam, and singing. She sang the Indian, American, and Canadian anthems at local sports events, and later even released a pop album titled Aashna with Universal Music. Patel later began hosting television programs like The Treehouse, The Alley, Breakfast Zone, and Hit List, on which she interviewed celebrities like Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Madonna, and Celine Dion.

She moved to Los Angeles over a decade ago and began hosting and/or producing shows like CNN’s World Beat, NBC’s Extra, the Travel Channel, and E! Entertainment before joining the Emmy-nominated legal shows as a producer.

The Emmy nominations are an inspiration to Patel. “I love being creative. It drives me. I can’t stop thinking about ideas and projects I want to create,” she said. “I have a pipeline of my shows and books I want to work on and that’s what is coming up next for me!”
