Born in a Brothel – An Evening with Kranti

Join us for an inspiring evening dedicated to Kranti, a remarkable Mumbai-based NGO that empowers girls from India’s red-light areas to become agents of social change and global leaders. Founded by Robin Chaurasiya, a former US Air Force officer, activist, and finalist for the prestigious Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize, Kranti is transforming lives through a revolutionary, trauma-informed curriculum focused on mental health, leadership, and creative expression.
This special event will feature storytelling, laughter, and wisdom as we hear from Kranti’s community and its incredible Revolutionaries, young women who have overcome immense stigma to achieve extraordinary success.
Highlights of the evening include:
- Mahek’s Story: From growing up in a Mumbai brothel to studying theater in the U.S., performing on Broadway, and now pursuing an Ed.M. at Columbia University, Mahek’s journey is nothing short of inspiring.
- Special Guest Speaker: MR Rangaswami, Founder of Indiaspora and a committed Kranti supporter, will share his insights on bridging communities and creating impact through philanthropy and leadership.
