Dr. Aakash Ahuja, a Santa Clarita-based psychiatrist, won election to a seat on the Board of the William S. Hart Union High School District in Southern California. He won 8,733 votes, accounting for 38.68% of total votes.
Dr. Ahuja, an Indian immigrant moved to the U.S. twenty years ago. During his campaign, he focused on bringing common sense back to schools, emphasizing mental health support for students, improving academic performance, and ensuring parents have a stronger voice in decisions that affect their children’s education. Ahuja also stressed the importance of working closely with local law enforcement to expand the School Resource Officer (SRO) program for enhanced safety.
“This victory is a testament to the power of community and collaboration, and I’m deeply honored by the trust you’ve placed in me,” said Ahuja. “My top priority is to make mental health resources more accessible and to implement practical solutions that will help our kids succeed academically and socially.”
