On February 12, San Mateo Police Department officers found the bodies of an Indian-origin couple and their two children in a home on the block of 4100 Alameda de las Pulgas. The police are investigating the case as a murder suicide.

According to a report by FOX KTVU, police arrived at the scene on Monday morning for a welfare check after someone reported that they hadn’t heard from the residents of the house for some time. Police eventually entered through a window to find bodies of two adults and two children.

Media reports have identified the male victim as Anand Sujith Henry and the woman as his wife Alice Benzinger. According to a Hindustan times report, Anand was a former Meta employee and Alice worked at Zillow.

However, the San Mateo Police Department is not confirming the identities and details of the four victims at the time. “We are still waiting for the San Mateo Coroner’s Office to complete the autopsies and to get the formal identification process done,” said Public Information Officer Jerami Surratt. “Then we can release the names of the individuals involved.”

According to a press release issued by the police department, the man and the woman died of gunshot wounds, but the cause of death is unknown for the children. Officers also recovered a 9mm pistol with a loaded magazine at the scene of the crime. There was no sign of forced entry and police believe that this was an isolated incident and that it does not pose a danger to the general public.

Investigators are trying to determine the motive behind this crime. While officers are investigating it as a murder-suicide, Officer Surratt said that the police department is unaware of any mental health aspects in this incident at the moment.

This is a developing story.
