16-year-old Indian para athlete Sheetal Devi climbed two spots to become the world’s top ranked para archer in the women’s compound open category, after winning two gold medals at the Para Asian Games held in China in October.
Devi suffers from a congenital condition called phocomelia, which results in under-developed limbs, in Devi’s case, her hands. As a result, Devi trained to become an archer using her feet to hold the bow while using her shoulder. Read more here.
