Bay Area Telugu Association (BATA) hosted the 18th Annual BATA Cricket Cup Tournament, co-sponsored with San Ramon Cricket Assoc (SRCA) at the Gale Ranch Middle School in San Ramon on Nov. 2. The tournament drew parallel tournaments for men and women, showcasing talent, teamwork, and a shared love for cricket.

Dublin Vice Mayor Kashef Qaadri and San Ramon Vice Mayor Sridhar Verose attended the event and encouraged all players to value participation, sportsmanship, and community spirit.

The tournament concluded with a ceremony to award prizes and trophies to the winning men’s and women’s teams. Continuing BATA’s tradition of community service, all proceeds from the event were donated to the Sankara Eye Foundation (SEF) to support their mission to eradicate curable blindness.

The Phoenix team won the women’s tournament with Boundary Crossers as runners-up. Spoorthy Nimmala was named Player of the Match (POM Finals), and Akhila Chippada won Player of the Series (POS).

The men’s championship went to Vinstar with OG as runner-up; Kumar Kannan was named both player of the match and series.
