On Sept. 12th, Asian American Media held a roundtable with guest Mark Ferrell, the San Francisco Mayoral candidate, as part of the voter education initiative “Know Your Candidates.” This initiative aims to inform and engage the Asian community in the political process by providing a platform for conversations with candidates running for office.

Ding Ding TV, India Currents, The Filipino Community of Santa Clara County, and Vietnamese in San Jose organized the event. Participants included host Diana Ding of Ding Ding TV, Vandana Kumar, publisher of India Currents, Minh Tran of Vietnamese in San Jose, Yoliesil Pontino, Filipino Community of Santa Clara County, and Joel Wong, President, National Asian American United.

Ferrell, a former mayor of San Francisco answered questions from the panel, describing his vision for the future of San Franciso as a safe, economically thriving city with clean streets, vibrant neighborhoods, and policies that prioritize families and public safety over special interests.
