The 17 Annual Sevathon
The India Community Center (ICC) announced its 17th Annual Sevathon event, scheduled to take place on September 28 at Baylands Park, Sunnyvale. This unique family-friendly fundraising event invites participants of all ages and fitness levels to stay active and serve as catalysts for positive community change.
From the Sanskrit word “Seva” meaning service, Sevathon is the umbrella where multiple
nonprofits participate to fundraise for their cause, bridging nonprofit organizations with
community participants. Walkers, runners, yoga and dance enthusiasts strengthen nonprofit
causes while pursuing fitness goals.
“When participants register and select their nonprofit, they directly help that organization fundraise,” said Lakshmi Ravi, Event Chairperson.
The event offers something for everyone: competitive athletes compete for overall winner
medals by gender and age group, families enjoy the accessible Tiny Trots 1K, and remote
supporters participate virtually. Timing mats ensure accurate results throughout strategically
placed courses.
