Category: STOP THE HATE
Our Stop the Hate (STH) initiative aims to empower the South Asian community, especially those at risk due to their racial, cultural, religious, and other identities. We write stories to create awareness about hate incidences, and provide information on California’s STH program, how to report a crime, and how to get support.
We share collateral on our website, social media, newsletters, and community outreach- via WhatsApp, in-language radio shows, public forums (Santa Clara County Office Of Immigration Relations), senior center events, ethnic media round tables, and photo exhibitions.
Our impact – our readers learn the importance of countering hate in their communities, while community events promote cross-cultural understanding, reducing the stigma surrounding hate incident reporting, and encouraging collaboration among various racial and ethnic groups.
This resource is supported in part by funding provided by the State of California, administered by the California State Library in partnership with the California Department of Social Services and the California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs as part of the Stop the Hate program. To report a hate incident or hate crime and get support, go to CA vs Hate.
