The Great Indian Food and Shopping Fest (TGIFS) held at San Ramon’s City Center Bishop Ranch on Saturday, May 10th, drew thousands of attendees from across the Bay Area. The event, organized by the Association of Indo Americans (AIA) and co-sponsored by Bolly 92.3 FM, celebrated Indian culture through food, shopping, music, and family-friendly activities.
The festival featured over 100 shopping booths showcasing Indian apparel, jewelry, art, décor, and local businesses. Food lovers could enjoy a diverse selection of Indian cuisine from over 20 food booths, including biryani, dosas, jalebi, chaats, and mango lassi. Family-friendly entertainment included carnival rides, games, a MayaBazaar Express train ride, and non-stop cultural programs.
Dr. Srikar Reddy, Consul General of India, San Francisco, was among the many dignitaries who attended the festival. Dr. Reddy commended AIA for bringing together diverse communities and promoting grassroots entrepreneurship, which aligns with India’s “One District—One Product” initiative.
The AIA has already begun planning for next year’s event, tentatively scheduled for May 9th, 2026.
