Aila Malik is a seasoned nonprofit leader, attorney, and founder of Venture Leadership Consulting. She partners with venture-ready organizations to build sustainable systems and leadership capacity, helping them navigate change and deliver long-term impact. A trusted advisor to foundations and nonprofits nationwide, Aila has worked with over 250 organizations to advance equity and justice.
Aila has supported and educated youth across diverse settings, including homeless shelters, foster care, juvenile justice, and public schools. She has served as a nonprofit executive, trainer in the social impact sector, adjunct law lecturer, keynote speaker, and children’s author. Aila’s commitment to global learning led her to homeschool her three children while visiting 41 countries in 54 weeks, partnering with 25 NGOs to preserve cultural and natural wisdom.
She holds a BS in Environmental Science from UC Santa Barbara and a JD from Santa Clara University, where she is a member of the California Bar Association. Her accolades include the ABA Child Advocate of the Year Award, the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Women of Influence honor, and recognition as a Presidential Leadership Scholar.
