Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthy from Illinois’ 8th District passed a resolution in Congress that recognizes the contributions of the Indian-American communities and specifically graduates of IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) in shaping America.

He said that the “presence of Indian-American residents enriches the United States whereas the Indian-American community and the graduates of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) in the United States have made valuable and significant contributions to society across many professions and disciplines”.

Indians account for a quarter of all international students in the United States, and are now the largest contingent of international graduate students, followed by China. Read the full resolution here.
