Drawn Together: an interview with Harleen Singh

Sikh filmmaker Harleen Singh talks about her film Drawn Together: Comics, Diversity and Stereotypes with IC Culture and Media Editor Geetika Pathania Jain. Harleen talks about her motivation to make the film, her influences, and what it means to be brown in America.

Harleen Singh’s film brings together three artists who confront stereotypes and racism in modern America. Against a backdrop of superheroes and comic books, the film follows “Sikh Captain America” Vishavjit Singh, “Knight Life” cartoonist Keith Knight, and “Super Sikh” co-creator Eileen Kaur Alden.
