SUMMARY:The Poetry of Diaspora in Silicon Valley
DESCRIPTION:Hello Poetry Lovers\, \n\n\nWe will be gathering at Shoreline Park (green grass patch near the Cafe) on Feb 15th\, Saturday from 3 to 5:30pm for our regular poetry circle. (Rain might move us indoors or to an alternate location but we will read for sure). \n\nSave the date and let me know if you want to read from the stage of the Mountain View Multicultural festival. Some of us did this last year and had fun. I have asked for a 15 minute slot for my group. Saturday\, March 15\, 2025\, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.\n\n\nLet me know either way. I know Saturdays are busy for many – but this is an opportunity to show up and ensure that the govt. cancelling DEI efforts is not going to change our grassroots efforts to be engaged and win the love of our communities by sharing our joys and passions freely\, every chance we get.\n\nHave a great day\,\nJyoti Bachani\n\nPS: If you can volunteer more time on March 15th\, than the minutes to read a poem from the stage\, we can do more for the community. I have a few more days to apply for a cultural table to be present for the duration of the festival. I can’t do it alone. IF I get a few volunteers\, we can do this. It is a great chance to talk to many families and kids – who come to the festival to learn about the multicultural people who live here. We can read poems together there\, and showcase our poetry books. Without volunteered commitments from a few of you for a few hours\, my ideas will remain khyaali pulao.\n\n\n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Poetry of Diaspora in Silicon Valley
DESCRIPTION:All poetry lovers are invited to enjoy an online poetry offering by Poetry of Diaspora in Silicon Valley. Attendees are invited to bring their poems to read in the open mic that follows the first hour of poetry offered by nine poets. \nLast summer India Currents in collaboration with Poetry of Diaspora in Silicon Valley\, offered an online poetry show to raise poetic voices of diaspora in the ‘Stop the Hate’ campaign. The program was called Navarasa\, for the nine rasas (juices/emotions) described in Indian classical arts texts. The Poetry of Diaspora in Silicon Valley group nurtures poetic voices in the community to share the joy of oral poetic traditions\, from all parts of the world.
