DESCRIPTION:Dear all\, \nIt is with great pleasure that I invite you to join us for the solo Kathak recital of two of my senior students\, Mahika Rangnekar and Shivalee Talati\, on January 22. The performance represents their commitment to continuing the legacy of Kathak by further propagating the dance form in the Bay Area. \nAcclaimed guest artists from India will be accompanying the dancers with live music: Utpal Ghoshal on tabla\, Chandrachur Bhattacharjee on sitar\, and Arindam Bhattacharyya on vocals. They will be joined by accomplished artists from the U.S. — Asim Mehta\, from the Bay Area\, on keyboard; and from New York\, Rohan Mishra\, son of the late Pt. Ramesh Mishraji\, on sarangi. Three senior Tarangini students — Aashna Shah\, Ayesha Mudassir\, and Isha Ponnaganti — will be doing padhant (recitation). \nPlease see the event details provided in the flyer.
