SUMMARY:Bharatanatyam Classical Indian Dance Performance
DESCRIPTION:OINDRILA ROY MALLICK is well-known among the younger generation of Bharatanatyam dancers in India. Trained initially under the late Guru K. P.P Thampi from the age of five\, Oindrila honed her dance skills further under legendary Guru Khagendra Nath Barman\, one of the most senior disciples of Guru Rukmini Devi Arundale\, founder of the unique “Kalakshetra” style (of Bharataatyam). In 2011\, she came under the guidance of Guru Abhoy Pal of Kalamandalam style. Oindrila’s dance reflects the cumulative richness of her learning experience.\nShe teaches dance in India and has been touring in Europe since 2011. Recently\, she received the Chairman’s Award at the International Multicultural Dance and Music Festival in Pune\, India. In 2021\, she received “The Best Bharatanatyam Dancer” award from Lion’s Club Chennai.
