DESCRIPTION:The Samudra Dance Lab project hosted by dancer/choreographer Jyotsna Vaidee is a new initiative to bring artists and audiences closer by creating intimate performance spaces and also create room for experimentation and dialogue. We have our first edition on November 8 evening in Palo Alto.\nWe hope to present many more dancers and gurus in the coming months but we need your support! \nWe are excited to present 4 lovely Bay Area artists on Nov 8\, at Zohar Dance Studio Palo Alto. Samudra Dancers Sriya and Aishwarya who are creating new works for Samudra Lab. Followed by our talented guest artists Vedya Spoorthi Konda who will be presenting Kuchipudi and Ashwini Srivatsan who will lead an interactive session on Karnas of the Natya Shastra. Ashwini will be supported by Jim Santi Owen on percussion. We have used the rhythm of Bharatanatyam\, the raga’s of Carnatic music interwoven with English spoken word to communicate a very Contemporary Theme on Climate Change; we tell the story of a Woman and her journey Past\, Present and even Future.
