The County of Santa Clara invites citizens – specifically members of the disabled community – to apply to serve on the Disability Community Accountability Advisory Board, a committee that will work with the County and the Office of Disability Affairs to increase accessibility for disabled persons and lead the way in equitable inclusivity.

The aim of this committee will be to give a voice to individuals who are deaf/hard of hearing, blind/visually disabled, physically disabled, developmentally/intellectually disabled, as well as advocates and caregivers including families, parents and community-based organization workers in the community. As part of this advisory group, they will help create inclusive policies along the principle of “Nothing About Us Without Us.”

Interested individuals in the disability community can self-nominate to serve on this advisory group here. The group will meet six times throughout 2024 and committee members will receive an annual $1,000 stipend. Nominations open November 1 and will close on December 4, 2023.
