Srishti Prabha was recognized for her coverage on the importance of desi grocery stores during the pandemic\, as were stories on Desi Voters by Jaya Padmanabhan\, Meera Kymal and Ritu Marwah. Winners included Avatans Kumar\, Ayanna Gandhi\, and Medha Sarkar\, for their Desi Voices commentaries. Our investigative series on transnational abandonment by Meera Kymal and Anjana Nagarajan-Butaney continues its winning streak. \nAs a nonprofit news organization\, we’re committed to telling stories about our community that might otherwise go untold. These awards confirm that the stories we cover and the people we represent really do matter!\nOur reader-funded newsroom can’t run without reader support.
